A Fallen Tree Reveals What Was Hiding Underneath For 1,000 Years

A strong storm blasted parts of Ireland a few months ago, downing a 200-year-old tree. The cleanup took place in a routine way, until someone saw the ground underneath the tree. The investigators found a 1,000-year-old skeleton.

When the analyzed the remains, they found that it was a man who was about 20 at the time of his death and that he had livd between 1030 and 1200AD. Upon closer inspection, they noticed he had knife wounds to his hands and ribs.

“Whether he died in battle or was killed during a personal dispute, we will never know for sure,” Dr. Marion Dowd said in an interview with CNN.
