Widowed Teacher’s Son with Leukemia Has Only One Wish for Christmas, Students Grant It
High school pre-calculus teacher was definitely in for a surprise. Nathan Neidigk has had some unfortunate times recently when the father was hit by the devastating news that his 2-year-old son, Micheal, was diagnosed with leukemia.
His wife has passed away back in 2015 and the single father now has to pay for all the medical expenses himself.
Before his son got sick, Nathan told his students that his son absolutely loves video games and was hoping to get him the new Nintendo switch for the upcoming Christmas.
One the news hit, the bills started piling up and up and the widowed father was worried he was unable to buy the $300 console for his son’s for Christmas. That’s when his students stepped in.
Nathan was out of class for a week to take care of his son and when he came back, he found a new Nintendo switch waiting for him on his desk.
The students collaboratively each pitched in $20 of their own money and was able to buy the console and two games for their teacher.
Hopefully, Micheal will beat his cancer and this gesture of generosity will go a long way.
