A bald eagle was spotted one morning on Countryside Boulevard in Clearwater, Florida, sitting and blocking the traffic on the roadway.
According to the Clearwater Police Department’s Facebook post, when the police arrived at the scene, the bald eagle was found to be injured. Apparently the bald eagle had been struck by a car while trying to feed off of roadkill.

The police officers and firefighters teamed up with a wildlife rescue specialist to transport the eagle to Busch Gardens.

The experts at Busch Gardens identified the injury as a bone chip that had to be surgically removed. The bird is now recovering at Busch Gardens and once rehabilitated, will be let free to where it belongs.

It’s an amazing thing to see officers, firefighters, and rescue specialists all working together to save this majestic bird’s life. Thank you!
