Olive oil is a popular staple ingredient in kitchens all over the world. It can be used in almost any dish, and it has many health benefits—including heart health, reduced risk of type 2 diabetes, and lower anxiety levels.
However, a lot of olive oil companies have capitalized on this and are now producing fake olive oil. According to University of California researchers, over 70 per cent of name-brand extra virgin olive oil was fake!
So how do you know if your olive oil is fake? It’ll have either part olive oil and part sunflower oil, or it’ll have a mixture of non-Italian oils and olive oil.

But to be safe, here are a list of brands that make fake oil:

-Newman’s Own
-Whole Foods

Instead, buy extra virgin olive oil from these brands:

-Kirkland Organic
-California Olive Ranch
-Cobram Estate
