What looks like the grossest spaghetti you have ever seen in your life, is actually one man’s passionate (and daunting) work. It’s a messy business, but someone has to do it and that somebody is Brian Ware of Oakland, California. A while ago he learned crayons for kids in restaurants are often simply thrown away, and that didn’t sit well with him.

Brian set out on a mission to collect these discarded crayons and melt them down in his kitchen in order to make new crayons for some very needy children; those who were patients in hospitals. Often helped by an army of volunteers, Brian recycles old crayons into new ones for sick kids in need. Who wouldn’t mind a bit of mess if it meant smiling children?
