When it comes to diplomatic relations, the international events are left to presidents and prime ministers but it’s within our neighbourhoods that the biggest diplomatic battles are surely fought. In most cases, they occur between someone’s pet dog and the mailman or mailwoman.

Truly, there must be rows and rows of post office uniforms and pants at tailors and head offices around the world having been ripped, torn or chewed apart as a result of a dog-related event on a mailman’s daily route. And then there’s this dog. Right from the start, it’s clear that this dog and mailwoman share a particularly different relationship.
