While this time of the year may seem almost magical to us humans, it’s quite a dangerous time for animals. As the water begins to freeze with the colder temperatures, it takes a while for a thick enough layer of ice to form but most animals don’t know this. Lots of wild animals end up perishing around this time of year as a result.

Thankfully, firemen (who may as well be angels in human form) exist to help us when we’re in need and they were on call to help this poor dog named Boo who had wandered onto the surface of any icy pond and became trapped. Firefighters from Elsmere and Cranston heights fire departments in Delaware rescued Boo from the ice-coated pond in Greenville.
