When I was a kid I used to love going to birthdays and getting a helium balloon. At some point, I would inevitably try to release it to watch it float away into the air. As a little child, I had not idea the harm it could do.
Maybe you hadn’t thought much about it, but what happens to that balloon when it goes flat?

Balloons can travel thousands of miles and pollute places on earth that need to be protected.

If they happen to land in the sea, predators often mistake them for jellyfish and try to eat them.

Animals can become entangled in the latex or the ribbon and suffocate that way.
So please, enjoy your balloons and make sure they’re properly disposed of in a trash can afterwards.
