Rescue dogs are incredibly special. After a rough life, they get a second chance to be with a loving home.
But that doesn’t mean they forget their life lessons.
In April 2016, a starving dog named Petunia was brought to the Delta Animal Shelter in Michigan. The shelter had their work cut out for them—the pup had two broken legs and broken ribs, and she had ingested a fair bit of carpet.
Thankfully she was adopted by a loving family and given a new name: Peanut.
Then one day in March 2017, Peanut started acting very strange. She was running up and down the stairs, barking and yelping for no apparent reason.
She went to get her daddy, who was working in the garage. When he let her outside, she took off towards a field behind the house.
Her daddy followed her, and was shocked to find a naked and shivering three year old girl curled up in a ball. He wrapped her in a sweatshirt, brought her back to the house, and called 911.
Thanks to Peanut, this little girl’s life has been saved. Who knows what would have happened, had she not been there.
