Nearly a third of all children say they have experienced bullying in their lives and while there are more and more projects and organizations against bullying, it’s still a serious problem across the country. In Hobbs, New Mexico, two football players decided to tackle the problem directly.

When footballer Chris Kuykendall heard that a five year old was being bullied, he was heartbroken to hear that a kindergartener was going through that. Using his own memories of being bullied as motivation, Chris invited the young boy to eat lunch with him at school. This was to show other kids that the young boy was seen with the cool and respected kids in the school. What started as a simple lunch break turned into a great school program that’s getting lots of attention.
