There are plenty of animals who love belly rubs. Dogs are probably the first to come to mind, followed by a handful of cats, and then a bunch of other animals ranging from birds to pigs. But a lizard liking belly rubs? It’s a notion that seems just a tad far-fetched.
Here to dispel that notion is a baby lizard (a Mali Uromastyx to be exact) that goes absolutely bananas for belly rubs. Any time you so much as open her cage and wiggle your fingers, she will come running up and then carefully flip onto her back awaiting tummy rubs. Once you start, she’ll wave her arms the way a dog wags its tail. It’s adorable.
