So a while ago this elderly veteran suffered a heart attack and due to his extended stay, he couldn’t take care of his two precious pups. Thankfully, the First State Animal Center and SPCA volunteered to take care of the dogs Bailey and Blaze until their owner was released from the hospital.

Unfortunately, weeks went by and the man was still stuck in the hospital and too sick to properly care for his dogs. Eventually the dogs had to be put up for adoption. By the time the veteran got out of the hospital, his puts were still in the shelter and hadn’t been adopted.

Sadly, he now needed to pay the $250 adoption fee, but needed a few days to collect the money. When he came back, he got the surprise of a lifetime. The volunteers and staff had come together to pay for his adoption fees, including a few other bells and whistles. His reaction is just amazing, and speaks to how much he loves his dogs.
