In 2015, as we move more and more confidently throughout the 21st century, we are increasingly seeing a greater blending of reality and what people aspire to deliver us in a new virtual reality. While it’s certainly obvious that we may be quite a while away from full blown artificial intelligence-supported living, the prospect of technology adding some rich and evocative experiences to our daily lives is surely welcome. Especially as we wait for a meal.
On that note, here is a wonderful presentation from two innovative Belgians named Antoon Verbeeck and Filip Sterckx. Turning dinner plates into a virtual reality experience via projection, patrons to any restaurant that uses their technology have a chance to watch a tiny and adorable chef setting about his work right on their dinner table. We all know that time flies when you’re having a good time, and this amusing dinner spectacle is sure to make it seem that your meal has taken only a few moments. Perhaps it is also a sign of what we can look forward to seeing more of in the future.
