Who says that science and art can’t be one and the same? Here is a beautifully made video that started as a science experiment, but ended up giving us a fresh perspective on one of the most beautiful natural features of the American landscape. Looking down from the stratosphere over 86,558 feet up in the air (26.4 km for you metric users), we see a new view of an iconic American landscape thanks to these students.

Furthermore, they included the history of this project, the design, preparation, and everything else that went into making this a reality. Thanks really should be given to these intrepid young scientists for giving an insight into what sort of planning goes into acquiring some footage like this; especially that one beautiful shot in the video when the balloon finally breaks and begins its descent. It’s almost breathtaking.
