Stranger Gives Away Last Generator to Woman in Dire Need for Relative’s Oxygen Tank

Driving 30 miles for a power generator is not amusing, especially when the last one is taken right in front of you. As a last ditch of effort, Pam Brekke of Orlando, FL had to take the journey to a Lowe’s store as she desperately needed a generator to save her 87-year old father in dire need of nightly oxygen.

Only for her, she had just missed the last one. “I had heard on the news just before I left work that they had 150 generators still in their store, but they were going fast,” said Brekke to PEOPLE.

Only for her, the unexpected happened. A stranger by the name of Ramon Santiago was willing to offer Brekke his generator-the last in the store. He had seen Brekke clearly distressed and wanted to offer hope in light of the category 5 hurricane.

Then, the following happened:

Pam Brekke’s father is on oxygen. She ran into Lowe’s and we watched her breakdown in tears…
