Anyone who’s ever had their cat disappear for a day or two – or your dog go wandering off to California figuring he’s a shoe-in for a role in a Milo and Otis reboot – would well know the anguish and sadness that comes with being away from a beloved pet for too long.

Here now a beautifully vivid and sweet video of a reunion between Sue Blagburn and Arthur, a horse she bred only to sell; but then knew she needed to quickly reunite with. Would Arthur now aged eight and a half, a thoroughbred sports horse that has spent the last four and a half years in a high class private competition yard BE eventing have any memory at all of the two hairy New Forest pony playmates he once shared his youth with?

We catch up with Sue and Arthur just as they are setting out for the field for some quality bonding (and galloping) time. Alongside the resplendent and rich optics of the beautiful English countryside there is a solid mix of instrumental and inspirational-electro music to make you enjoy and engage with this at once beautiful; and sufficiently light-hearted reunion between friends. After many hooves were trotted and many manes perhaps pulled we hear from Sue an explanation as to why Arthur may have been roughhousing with William and Harry (his two other horse friends; not the English Royals) “well they’re just horses being horses.”
