When most people out there have to chop down a dying tree on their property, most would just see firewood. But one woman from Everett, Washington saw the potential to honor her beloved cedar tree and turn it into a little library.

It had begun to rot and with safety concerns, the city needed her to chop it down. However, Sara Sanders had always been interested in little libraries, and she thought this would be the perfect opportunity to have one of her own. With the help of a local artist named Larry Carter, her wish came true and it’s become something of a popular local feature.
