The most important skill you can develop in inter-school competition is camaraderie – even if that camaraderie develops between members of opposing teams.
Addie is a nine-year old cheerleader whose father is serving overseas in the military. That’s what made it so hard when everyone on her cheer team took part in a routine with their fathers. She was still on the field and was completely devastated to be the only team member alone.
Without another thought, a boy from the opposing team ran out of the bleachers and came over and subbed in for her father, carrying Addie on his shoulders so she could take part in the routine.
