Artist and Her Toddler Daughter Collaborate to Create Beautiful Art
As a toddler, one of the best feelings was having your parents praise your artwork and hang it on the fridge door. My dad still has all of my own artwork.
The only thing better than parental approval was parental participation. Making art projects with your parents has to be one of the greatest feelings in the world—you’re doing something you both love, together.
Ruth and Eve Oosterman, however, have taken mommy and me art to a whole other level.
Ruth is a Canadian artist and Eve is her toddler. Together, they collaborate on their artwork, each having an equal part in deciding what goes into the final piece.
“The creations we make are paintings that represent the bonding experiences we share as artistic equals and strengthens our love while creating priceless memories,” Ruth said in a Facebook message.
Ruth doesn’t take her child’s art and completely finishes it as she sees fit. Rather, she and her daughter choose all the elements—from the theme to the colors used.
“The reason we share our work on social media is to inspire other parents to create side by side with their child,” Ruth added.
