3-Year-Old Toddler Found on School Bus Hours After Nobody Lets Him Off the Bus

Imagine the feeling of seeing your child off to school to receive a call hours later that he was not at school.

Panic? Frightened? Scared?

Well, these are all the emotions a mother had to go through when she received a call telling her that her son has been absent for the day.

Three-year-old Xavier Ebersold boarded his bus at 8:30 a.m and arrived at school 45 minutes later.

He was allegedly marked present by his teacher but it wasn’t until after, that they noticed him missing. After hearing the call, she immediately went into panic mode.

Their son had been lost for three hours and nobody had any information as to where he could be.

Just before noon, the executive director of the preschool program was able to track Xavier down to which they found him sleeping inside of the bus, roughly 6 miles away from the school.

When Xavier was returned safely to his parents, the first thing he said to them was “momma I cried for you, nobody let me off the bus”. The parents of Xavier were questioning as to why it took the school over three hours to simply realize their child was not in school.

“To me, there’s no excuse for what happened to my son today,” Xavier’s father said.

Those involved have been fired and the family is just happy that their son was safe and it wouldn’t happen again.

He noted the changes that need to be made in order to keep the children safe.

“It’s kind of nerve-racking to think your child is not going to come home because someone didn’t take the 30 seconds to walk to the end of the bus,” he said. ”What would’ve happened if this had happened on a colder day or in the middle of summer?”

Thankfully Xavier came out of the frightening situation unharmed but his mother plans to drive Xavier to school herself.
